Decision Box
Parking Near Barclays Center
No arena-owned lot exists. Book a nearby private garage through SpotHero ahead of time, or skip parking entirely — Barclays Center sits directly above one of the most transit-connected stations in the city.
Reserve Barclays Center ParkingBarclays Center sits at the intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic Avenues in downtown Brooklyn. It hosts the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty, major concerts, boxing events, and graduations year-round — but it doesn’t have its own dedicated parking lot.
Named Garages Near Barclays Center
- GGMC Parking, Atlantic Center Mall Garage — 174 Fort Greene Pl., closest to the arena
- iPark, 38 6th Ave. Garage — 475 Dean St.
- 375 Dean St. Garage
- NYC Arena Parking — 670 Pacific St.
- 700 Pacific St. Garage
- SP+ Garage — 215 Flatbush Ave. (entrance at 470 Dean St.)
Event-night rates at these garages run higher than pre-booked rates — booking ahead through SpotHero typically saves a meaningful amount over walk-up pricing.
Street Parking Near Barclays Center
Street parking exists but requires patience and timing:
- 4th Avenue and Union Street area — metered spots, a 10–15 minute walk to the arena
- Pacific Street residential blocks — look for alternate side spots, but check signage carefully
- Prospect Heights side streets — farther out but free in some blocks after 6pm
Meter enforcement in Brooklyn runs until 10pm on weekdays — don’t assume evening events are free. Street parking around the immediate Flatbush/Atlantic corridor is essentially zero during events; don’t waste time circling those blocks. If you get a ticket, read our NYC parking tickets guide before you pay.
Transit Options (If You Want to Skip Parking Entirely)
Barclays Center was built for transit access. Eleven subway lines serve Atlantic Ave-Barclays Center Station directly below the arena — one of the easiest arenas in America to reach without a car.
- 2, 3, 4, 5 trains — Atlantic Ave-Barclays Ctr station, direct
- B, D, N, Q, R trains — DeKalb Ave or Pacific St, short walk
- LIRR — Atlantic Terminal, directly adjacent to the arena
- Multiple bus routes — B41, B45, B63, B67, and more
If you’re coming from Long Island, the LIRR to Atlantic Terminal drops you directly at the arena — no driving, no parking fees.
Parking by Event Type
- NBA Games (Nets/Liberty): Weeknight tip-offs are 7:30pm. Garages start filling by 6:30pm — book by 5pm at the latest.
- Concerts: Shows often end late. Factor in post-show exit traffic — build extra time into your reservation window.
- Graduations: Daytime events in May and June bring heavy traffic all day. Book early and plan for a slow exit.
- Boxing events: Unpredictable end times — get a reservation with a late cutoff or book hourly.
Tips for a Smoother Exit
- Leave 10 minutes before the final buzzer or encore — the difference in wait time is significant
- If you parked on 4th Avenue or Union Street, exit toward Park Slope rather than back toward Flatbush
- The 2 and 3 trains fill up immediately post-event — if heading to Manhattan, the B or D to DeKalb may have shorter platform waits
- Post-show rideshare surge pricing is significant — factor that in, or walk a few blocks before requesting
Bottom Line
Book Ahead or Take the Train
There’s no arena-owned lot, but eleven subway lines and the LIRR make skipping parking entirely a real option. If you’re driving, book one of the named garages above ahead of time.
